I’ve been wanting to start posting more beauty-product tips / reviews
and what better item to start with than a night cream !
Not just any old night cream but the new ” Bellatora Cellular Repair Night Cream “.
This cream is defiantly on the Luxury side of things with a price tag of $385 USD,
but when it comes to skin care I’m learning fast you really get what you pay for !
I haven’t always been into skin care but now that I’m in my 30s I realize that its a must if you want to stay fresh faced and youthful !
As many of you know i have Lupus SLE so i have endless problems with redness and rashes on my face!
My skin is veryyy tricky ,
I have a long list of issues which include,
ache prone , dry, flaky, enlarged pores, blotchy ,RED, extremly sensitive,
and has also started to lose its elasticity which happens to the best of us with age .
I spend most my time telling my friends about how i look like a dang pound pup in the jaws !
UGH GIRL don’t get me started hahaha.
So I’m on my search for the perfect skincare routine to hopefully help me age a little more gracefully than disgracefully! hahaha
When trying out a new product i always patch test over a two day period.
Like i said i have extremely sensitive skin ,
but i recommend this for anyone who is experimenting with lots of products !
Better safe than sorry !
My patch test method simply consists of me
1.) Drawing a 3 inch circle on the inside of my upper arm or the inside of my calf with an eyebrow pencil ,
this is so i can make sure and find right where i put the product the next day .
2.) Then take a Qtip and rub in a generous amount of the product inside the circle area ,
make sure you really slather it on to0 because you want to get the full effect if your going to have a reaction!
If you don’t rub it in good you may not get a true result and id rather have a rash on my leg than my face!
The next day if i wake up and i don’t look like elephant man then i move on to phase two “ the face“.
3.) In the evening “about 2 hours before bed” i do the same test on my lower cheek with the circle, etc
you know your most sensitive spots on your face ,so you may want to do your circle test there ,
mine just happens to be my lower cheeks..
Then if still no problems by the next day i usually decide its safe enough to try on my whole face..
Some people may skip the leg test if they’re not super sensitive,
but I’ve had some crazy reactions in the past and i always play it safe now!
So while I’m on this journey I’m going to defiantly be sharing the “good” finds with you guys!
So back onto the subject of this new BELLATORRA product !
The claims alone are enough to make you wanna run out and buy it!

How to Use:
Apply a thin layer of the Cellular Repair Night Cream on clean skin. Smooth in gently all over face and throat avoiding eye area. Use Cellular Repair Night Serum each night before bed.
When i saw this i thought wow now thats calling MY NAME !
“SHANDA please rub me all over every inch of your body ill make you look 21 again !” bahahaha
but at almost 400$ ill have to just try the face for a while !
It comes packaged like this
the box will have the ingredients on the back as well so hang onto if you want to research !
Also good to have when traveling to keep your jar from getting broken in your bag!
it comes in a beautiful blue glass jar the only down side i found is it doesn’t come with an applicator !
So if you don’t have one defiantly invest in one when using creams, especially pricy ones!
If you are just sticking your dirty lil paws in the jar it can give way for contamination of the product and
in some cases actually effect how well it works!
from what I’ve heard with any products ,
You always want to make sure you keep it away from bright light if you didn’t already know bright light “UVs’ can effect how well beauty products work and last over time!
Also make sure your always closing the jars nice and tight !
The cream goes on nice and smooth ,
it does have a little bit of a greasy feel to it but most night creams do and i don’t mind that part at all.
A little goes a long way with this cream & thats a great thing when its pricy!
It does have a fragrance thats reminds me of a deep citrus/sage scent which fades about 2 hours after applying ,
and thats nice because i can never sleep when i have on a super fragrant lotion !
So i apply it as soon as i get out of the shower at night ,which is always the best time it helps your skin lock in that moister !
Immediately my skin felt moisturized ,and i normally have a tough time achieving that from any product !
But the big test is how would my skin look in the morning !
Normally after i wake up and wipe the drool trails off my face i notice that i have a lot of flaking around my mouth ,nose and chin..
The first morning after using this cream i woke up to a pleasant surprise !
My skin was even more moistened then when applied the night before ! how is that even possible you say ..
Well this little miracle cream has some very fancy pants, futuristic 48 hour time release technology ,
that lets it slowly work on reaching the deepest layers of your skin over a 48 hour period!
Here are the pros of the morning after first use!
PROS
1.) Very moist skin no flaking
2.)Plump skin !
3.) Decreased redness
4.)Reduced dark spots
5.)Reduced pore appearance
6.)Tighten skin
CONS
i can’t say anything bad about it at this point!
ladies i am not even kidding you ,all that just over night !
When i woke up my skin looked so nice i didn’t even wanna wash it ,
i just took a warm wash cloth and wiped off any shine and went on about my morning !
when i took my shower i could tell a big difference in my skin too!
Normally i would get in the shower and have to really work to scrub the dead skin off my face,
and i mean every single time it needed it from the never ending flaking !
After using this cream the next morning my shower was a much different story ,
my skin didn’t feel like it needed to be exfoliated at all in the shower,
it honestly felt like a brand new baby’s bottom!
Which is a first for me for as long as i can remember!
I followed through with my normal face routine throughout the day ,
Wash in the shower get out use a light day moisturizer ,
then in the after noon i use pure witch hazel as a toner which i rinse off right after and then apply a day lotion again.
I always take a shower before bed so thats when i wash my face again.
I used my normal cleanser and then as soon as i jumped out of the shower ran to put on this night cream !
By day two i spent the whole day excited just to take my evening shower so i could get out and use this cream again! haha
So its been a few days of use now and every day my skin seems to improve more and more!
Im going save this baby on draft & finish this post after the weekend .
Then ill tell you my end results and my final opinion!
Alright ladies its now been one week since my first use of this cream and I’m here to give the rest of the details on how it went !
Since i had never really used retinol before i jumped into this cream a little to much too fast ,
After day three i started to get that burning feeling that is always accompanied with the use of retinol but I’m thinking mine was a little worse because i used it three nights in a row pretty thick .
Most people jump in with baby steps starting at maybe one or two nights a week spaced out to let the skin get use to it.
See Retinol is simply a super high dose of Vitamin A !
Vitamin A thickens and stimulates the dermis where your collagen, elastin and blood vessels are
so it reduces wrinkles and increases blood flow to the surface of the skin,that increase in blood flow i believe is what causes the flushed and wind burnt feeling that comes along with its use ..
Vitamin A actually increases the deposition of collagen; therefore it slows the normal aging breakdown of your collagen and elastin.
In long term use, if your skin does well adjusting to retinol, over time the side effects lesson and the benefits out way those small amount of side effects!
Obviously i can’t say if this cream is gonna be a game changer for me not yet because you have to use a product for some time to see the true effects of retinol ,
but in the short time i did use it i saw a long list of skin improvements!

CONS
1.) Burning
2.)small amount of flaking
3.)redness
Now the cons in this list do fade with time and are considered a given when using any retinol products so take that into mind!
Will i continue to use this product ?
Yes ,i believe i will but i will be changing my use to once a week until my skin gets a little more accepting of the Vitamin A !
I am however extremely excited about this skin care line as a whole
and i will be looking into trying a day cream and a regular night cream from them ,minus the retinol for every other night of the week !
So to some it all up, if someone was wanting to start using a Retinol product i would highly recommend this as your choice !
It has very high quality ingredients which is hard to come by in beauty products these days!
I will be writing again in the future on how this cream has worked out for me over time.
I’m also super pumped to test & write about some of their other skin care products !
